In February, the Commerce ISD iCoach team attended the Texas Computer Educators Association (TCEA) Conference in San Antonio, Texas. TCEA was a game changer for me, as I was bored with the way my Gifted and Talented Students were presenting their projects. Out of habit, they utilized either Google Slides or made a poster. Little did I know that a handy dandy Google tool could be the answer to getting us out of this rut.
Our next class activity was a Texas getaway project, where they had to choose a Texas city, amusement park, and a historic site and create a mini vacation with an $800 budget. They planned their own trip all the way down to gas prices, hotel, and food.

When students finished their planning and research, they created an interactive poster using my new favorite Google tool, Google Drawings. The poster had to be made up of primarily images and a few key research points. Their posters turned out amazing! Here are a few:
We had like a mini gallery walk to view and comment on all the interactive posters made by the students.
Google Drawings is an amazing tool that I planned to use more often in my daily classroom. Check out some other ways to integrate Drawings into your lesson from Mr. Matt Miller himself!
