First off, you can use forms to create worksheets, test, surveys, or even exit tickets. When you start a new form (which the template is already created for you! ) you have several different options for each question you insert. You can upload a video for students to watch and then have them answer questions about it. There is also multiple choice questions, short answer, paragraph answer, and even rate something on a scale point system. The best thing about this is…….it can even grade it for you! That’s right. You don’t have to take home stacks of papers anymore. You can put a point value on each question you have in the form and it will grade it for you!
Still a little unsure if Google Forms is for you. Here are some ways that you can use Google Forms in your classroom (this year or next)! 1) You can use this tool as a pre-assessment tool for your teaching. What a great way to see what your students already know and what areas you can focus more on. 2) Use it as a survey. I use Google Forms as a parent survey in my classroom but you can always use it as a student survey, co-worker survey, etc. 3) Exit ticket or even a bell ringer. Have students complete the form before class starts or even as an exit ticket to see what students gained from the lesson. 4) Final test. Instead of giving a paper test, have students take their final test on their unit on Google Forms. Remember…..it grades it for you and it puts it in a nice spreadsheet for you! 5) If you are even gone and have a substitute, this could be your best friend. You can upload videos, questions, etc. in your form and just share the link with your students to complete. You can see who has completed the work just by looking at the spreadsheet and your students don’t have to miss a day without instruction.
